Severe Injury: Madison Sacrificed Himself for the Team!
James Maddison, Tottenham’s star, suffered a head injury after a severe collision with Kevin Trapp, Eintracht Frankfurt’s goalkeeper.
This shocking moment occurred during the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final between Tottenham and Frankfurt. In the closing minutes of the first half, Maddison rushed towards a high ball sent by Cristian Romero.
He reached the ball first and headed it towards the goal. However, Trapp charged out at full speed and collided violently with Maddison’s head. The goalkeeper’s body directly hit Maddison’s head, causing the player to collapse in pain.
Tottenham teammates immediately called for medical attention. The horrific collision was reviewed by VAR, and the referee awarded a penalty and issued Trapp a yellow card.
Dominic Solanke stepped up and calmly converted the penalty, giving Tottenham a 2-1 aggregate lead.
Despite the injury, Maddison bravely tried to continue but was eventually substituted for Dejan Kulusevski. Fans praised his courage. One fan wrote: “Maddison was incredible. It was a supremely brave move because he knew he was going to get hit.” Another added: “That collision could have caused a brain hemorrhage.”
A third fan said: “Maddison sacrificed himself for the team to win the penalty. Mate, I won’t forget this.”
