Totti: It's Time for Ancelotti to Come to Roma

Francesco Totti has spoken about the selection of the next manager for AS Roma and expressed his desire to see the current Real Madrid coach at his former club. Totti discussed this in an interview with journalist Fabrizio Romano, which was published on the Betsson Sport YouTube channel.

Totti said: “I hope Ancelotti can come to Roma. He has always been a fan of this club. I think now is the right time. A while ago, I went to meet some players and met him. A phone call is one thing, but a face-to-face meeting allows for more discussion.”

Totti also spoke about Claudio Ranieri: “He is an exceptional person. He enters quietly and leaves like a king. The pitch is decisive, and many teams are always looking for him. He had stopped his activities, but when Roma asked him to return due to their problems, he came back.”

Ranieri has always responded positively to Roma. He is loyal and is a key figure for the club—for the fans, for the club, and most importantly, for the team that seems to have come alive again.

    Francesco Totti and Carlo Ancelotti

The situation of Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid remains uncertain, as he has not yet signed a new contract to extend his stay at the club. His current contract is valid until June 2026, but the lack of progress in renewal negotiations has sparked speculation about his future.

Despite his successful performance at Real, including winning two Champions League titles and one La Liga title during his second stint, rumors about his potential departure, especially after recent results in the 2024-25 season like the 3-0 defeat against Arsenal in the Champions League, have intensified.

Ancelotti was previously linked with the Brazil national team job. However, he emphasized his intention to retire from coaching at Real Madrid, saying: “As long as Real wants me, I am here.” He even dismissed rumors about Brazil, stating that his focus is on winning more trophies with Real. Nevertheless, the uncertainty surrounding his contract renewal and the high expectations at Real Madrid have cast doubt over the Italian manager’s future.
