Tragedy in Italian Football: Lecce Physiotherapist Found Dead
Graziano Fiorita, a 38-year-old physiotherapist, was found dead during Lecce’s training camp ahead of their match against Atalanta.
Italian football is in mourning once again. This morning, Graziano Fiorita, the masseur and physiotherapist of Lecce, passed away unexpectedly. The 38-year-old was found without vital signs in his hotel room in Coccaglio, near Brescia, where the yellow-and-red team was staying ahead of their match against Atalanta, scheduled for tomorrow at 20:45.
Fiorita had followed in the footsteps of his father, Fernando, who served as Lecce’s masseur for 10 seasons, and began working with his beloved team early in his career. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he had a brotherly relationship with the technical staff and players, who were the first to notice his absence early in the morning. After several unsuccessful attempts to contact him, his teammates entered his room and discovered that Graziano had likely passed away in his sleep.
