Trent Alexander-Arnold, who hadn’t played for Liverpool since March 11, came on as a substitute in the second half against Leicester and scored the winning goal five minutes later.

Trent celebrated more passionately than usual, leading some Liverpool fans to speculate he might be sending a message about staying at the club, amid ongoing rumors about a potential move to Real Madrid.

Arnold said in a post-match interview: “I’ve had good moments at this stadium and scored some goals, but today’s goal was sweeter because it brought us closer to the title. It was my first game back from injury, so it was important for me. I worked hard these past weeks to get fit. I’m very happy I could help the team.”

The Liverpool star added: “I think in 2019 I had a similar celebration at King Power Stadium. Actually, I think this was the first time in my career I scored with my left foot. Years passed, and now I’ve done it again with my left foot.”

Trent continued: “I’d been missing scoring this kind of goal but saved it for the right moment – when we’re one step from the title. If we win the next game, I think we’ll be champions. Being able to score this goal and make the fans happy was very special for me.”
