Andre No Longer Has a Place in Europe
United Shows Onana the Exit Door: Go to Saudi Arabia!
Manchester United’s management has informed Andre Onana that the best solution for both the club and the Cameroonian goalkeeper is a transfer to Saudi Arabian football.
Following a wave of harsh criticism directed at Andre Onana after his disastrous performance against Lyon, the Manchester United goalkeeper was seen smiling broadly for the first time during training sessions at the club’s facility.
Last night, Ruben Amorim benched Onana and opted for Altay Bayindir instead. It was clear that Amorim was angered by Onana’s performance against Lyon and wanted to send him a warning. Interestingly, Onana’s replacement also performed poorly, drawing similar criticism.
English media reported today that Onana and his agent had entered the club premises. The Sun newspaper claimed shortly after that an important meeting took place between Onana, his agent, and the club’s management after training.
The Sun alleges that United’s management told Onana the best option for him and the club is for the Cameroonian goalkeeper to move to a Saudi Arabian club this summer. Onana has previously received offers from Saudi Arabia, including a significant one in the summer of 2023 when he left Inter Milan for Manchester United.
However, a source from The Sun told the newspaper that Onana immediately disagreed with the management, stating he has no issues and is satisfied with his situation at United. Onana reportedly said he would fight to prove himself. Nevertheless, The Sun suggests that given the seriousness of the club’s decision, if Onana receives a substantial offer from Saudi Arabia, he will likely be seen in the Saudi Pro League next summer.
