Marcus Babbel, former Liverpool defender, says Jurgen Klopp is unwilling to accept the offer to coach Real Madrid.

Why Klopp Won't Become Real Madrid's Coach!

According to reports, there are many rumors about Real Madrid’s new coach. They no longer wish to continue with Carlo Ancelotti, and Marca had previously claimed that the club’s management has already contacted Klopp twice, but his response remains unclear.

Babbel commented on this matter: “I’m not sure if Klopp will even coach again. I don’t see him returning to Liverpool as a manager. I also doubt he would accept an offer to coach Real Madrid if Ancelotti is dismissed in the summer.”

Klopp stepped away from coaching because he no longer had the energy, and the pressure was too much. The pressure at Real Madrid is even greater than at Liverpool! In Madrid, if you lose one or two games, you’re under immense pressure. Ancelotti is now under heavy scrutiny after their Champions League exit. I don’t know if Klopp is willing to endure such pressure. He now has an ideal life, enjoys it, and has an exciting project with Red Bull. So why would he leave that to take charge of Real Madrid?

Klopp did not renew his contract with Liverpool and took up a sports advisory role at Red Bull. Currently, his representative has only emphasized that his commitment as Red Bull’s sporting director remains unchanged.

Babbel added: “I think his role at Red Bull is perfect for him. He doesn’t work too much, isn’t at the training ground every day, and can travel the world. This is what he wants—to be part of a project but not in the spotlight. Right now, he seems to be enjoying life, looking better, and has lost weight.”

The only way I see Klopp coaching again is with a national team. Maybe the German national team, if Julian Nagelsmann decides to move to a new club and if all of German football requests Klopp’s presence, perhaps then he would accept the role. But coaching at a club seems unlikely.

While Babbel says Klopp won’t replace Ancelotti at Real Madrid, he believes Xabi Alonso, currently coaching Bayer Leverkusen, will have a place at Real, whether in 2025 or 2026.

Babbel stated: “I can definitely see Xabi Alonso at Real Madrid. Everyone sees him there because he has incredible potential as a coach. I like him because he’s different. He has a clear vision and a defined plan. He wants to gain experience at a club where he can build something without too much pressure, like Leverkusen. Things are going exceptionally well for him at Leverkusen, and I don’t think he wants to leave right now.”
