Yamal: I’m upset, we should have beaten Inter
Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s midfielder, says he is upset about not defeating Inter in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final.
According to reports, Lamine Yamal, despite an injury in pre-match training, participated in the crucial match between Barcelona and Inter in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
Yamal scored one goal in the match, and two of his stunning shots hit the post. The Spanish star said after the match: “We thought we could win the game, but now we have to focus on the return leg and win there.”
Regarding his pre-match injury, he said: “After a shot, I felt something strange. I went to the dressing room to warm up a bit more, and then I was able to play well. I always try to give my all for the team. Today went well, but I wanted more—I wanted us to win. In the return leg, we will give everything, and I think we will advance.”
Yamal spoke about the missed goal opportunity: “I wanted to shoot, but Ferran Torres’ pass was too strong, and the shot turned out that way. My aim was to shoot towards the goal. I always think about winning; that’s the most important thing. That’s why I was a bit upset. Now I’m thinking about the return leg and the opponent.”
He thanked the fans for their support and said: “I’m grateful that they see my efforts. I want to enjoy this moment and keep helping. In Milan, we will give everything. We are one step away from the final. We were the better team, but we didn’t get the result. We’re going to San Siro to win.”
