Roy Keane advised Arne Slot, Liverpool’s head coach, to strengthen three specific positions in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Liverpool won their 20th league title last week, marking a fantastic first season for Slot at the club. However, attention has now turned to the next season and how the Reds can strengthen their squad in the transfer market.

Liverpool lost 3-1 to Chelsea at home on Sunday, a match where Slot made some changes to his starting lineup. Keane believes that while Liverpool has a strong team, there is still room for improvement in several positions.

According to Roy Keane, Liverpool should look to sign a left-back, a center-back, and possibly a striker. Keane told Sky Sports: “They want to repeat their success; this is Liverpool’s biggest challenge. Maybe they need a left-back, a center-back, and probably a striker. They’ve won the league, which makes them attractive to many players. Winning the league is fantastic, but it needs to be repeated next season.”

Sturridge also agreed with Keane that Liverpool should sign a new striker. He also emphasized the importance of renewing Ibrahima Konaté’s contract, as only one year remains on his current deal.
Sturridge said: “Definitely, a striker is needed. Jota has been the main forward, but they likely need another striker, perhaps a replacement for Mohamed Salah. You also need to renew Konaté’s contract. His partnership with Van Dijk has been key to the team’s success. It’s always good to have a reliable defensive duo.”

Milos Kerkez, Bournemouth’s defender, has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, but Jamie Redknapp, while praising the player, stressed that Andrew Robertson should not be overlooked.
Redknapp said: “I don’t underestimate Robertson; he’s a top-class professional. Kerkez has been excellent for Bournemouth; he’s like a younger version of Robertson.”

Hugo Ekitike, Eintracht Frankfurt’s striker, has also been mentioned as a potential option for Liverpool.
Redknapp said: “Ekitike’s name has also come up. Things haven’t gone well for Darwin Núñez. Liverpool doesn’t need major surgery; they’ve just won the league.”
Last summer, Liverpool made only one signing: Federico Chiesa from Juventus, who spent most of the season on the fringes.
