Al Ain’s First Reaction to the Possibility of Azmoun’s Loan Transfer
Al Ain’s club director responded to rumors regarding Sardar Azmoun’s potential move to Al Ain and participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
According to reports, Al Ain is preparing for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 15 to July 15. Al Ain, as the reigning AFC Champions League winner, will participate in the tournament.
Rumors have emerged about the potential inclusion of Sardar Azmoun as a reinforcement for Al Ain. The Iranian national team striker previously told Emirates Today that he was honored to be linked with Al Ain for the upcoming Club World Cup.
He also stated that he takes pride in being selected by technical experts and fans to join Al Ain and is ready for this new challenge, but the final decision lies with Shabab Al Ahli’s management.
In this regard, Ahmed Al Shamsi, the director of Al Ain Football Club, told Emirates Today in response to a question about Azmoun’s possible inclusion: “Sardar Azmoun is a great player with high abilities, but he undoubtedly has a contract with his club. We respect Shabab Al Ahli and Sardar. If there is any discussion, it will be through official channels and with the agreement of the player and the club.”
Al Shamsi added: “This season’s results did not meet the expectations of the club and fans, but that’s football. However, Al Ain will return stronger, focusing on international competitions, especially the 2025 Club World Cup, which is the most important tournament in the club’s history. Preparations for future domestic competitions are also underway.”
