Al-Hilal Players Receive $6 Million Bonus for AFC Champions League Victory
Each Al-Hilal player received a bonus equivalent to $6 million after winning the AFC Champions League.
According to reports, the financial bonus for Al-Hilal football club players, following their victory in the AFC Champions League (Elite Edition), reached one million Saudi Riyals ($266,000) per player.
This championship was secured after Al-Hilal’s 2-0 victory over Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale on Saturday at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, as confirmed by exclusive sources to the newspaper “Al-Riyadhiya.”
According to the same sources, Al-Hilal Company will cover 700,000 Saudi Riyals of this bonus, while the Saudi Ministry of Sports will provide the remaining amount. This payment is being made under the directive of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the Minister of Sports.
Last Wednesday, via the ministry’s official account on platform “X,” he had announced that in case of reaching the AFC Champions League final, each player would receive a bonus of 100,000 Saudi Riyals, and in case of winning the championship, an additional 200,000 Saudi Riyals would be added.
These bonuses are expected to be paid to the players in the coming days. This marks Al-Hilal’s first continental championship victory; they had previously lost the 2012 final against South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai.
