High-Stakes Duel in the 10th Qatar Cup Final
Al-Sadd and Al-Duhail Battle for the Trophy Once Again!
Al-Sadd and Al-Duhail will compete in the final of the 10th Qatar Cup, each aiming for their fourth title to become the most decorated team in the tournament’s history.
According to reports, Al-Sadd and Al-Duhail will face off today (Saturday) at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the final of the 10th Qatar Cup—a decisive match to determine the most successful team in the tournament’s history.
Both teams have won the Qatar Cup three times and are now seeking their fourth title. Al-Sadd claimed the trophy in 2017, 2020, and 2021, while Al-Duhail triumphed in 2015, 2018, and 2023. Alongside these two, Al-Gharafa and Al-Wakrah have also won the tournament in the past.
This season, the top four teams from the Qatar Stars League—Al-Sadd, Al-Duhail, Al-Gharafa, and Al-Ahli—were invited to the competition. Al-Sadd advanced to the final with a 3-0 victory over Al-Ahli, while Al-Duhail progressed after a goalless draw against Al-Gharafa and a penalty shootout win.
Al-Sadd, riding high after winning the league with 11 consecutive victories, is now targeting a second domestic trophy this season. The team, featuring stars like Akram Afif, Rafa Mújica, and Mohamed Camara, is highly motivated to complete a treble.
On the other side, Al-Duhail, which led the league until the final weeks, has now shifted its focus to the Qatar Cup and the Emir Cup. Under the guidance of Christophe Galtier, the team aims to make up for their league disappointment, relying on players like Hakim Ziyech, Olunga, and Edmilson Junior.
Previous encounters between these two teams in the Qatar Cup have always been close and thrilling—each has won three of their six meetings, making the seventh clash highly anticipated.
