Alexander Sorloth: This Poker Reminded Me of the Game Against Real Madrid
Alexander Sorloth, Atletico Madrid’s striker, says scoring four goals against Real Sociedad reminded him of last season’s match against Real Madrid.
Alexander Sorloth, Atletico Madrid’s Norwegian striker, spoke about his outstanding performance and future after scoring four goals in a 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad in La Liga’s 35th matchday.
The match, in which Sorloth scored a poker in the first half, was one of his best performances this season, registering the fastest hat-trick in La Liga history in just four minutes.
Sorloth said about his goals: “The balls came to me, and my teammates provided excellent passes. I’m very happy.”
He scored the first goal in the 7th minute with a left-footed strike from Pablo Barrios’ cross, the second in the 10th minute from Samuel Lino’s pass, completed his hat-trick in the 11th minute by capitalizing on a defensive error, and sealed his poker in the 30th minute with a precise left-footed finish from Javi Galan’s assist.
Sorloth commented on this moment: “This situation was similar to last season when I scored four goals against Real Madrid, with one shot hitting the post. Today felt like a throwback.”
The Atletico Madrid striker spoke enthusiastically about his future: “I hope to stay in La Liga for many more years and have more games like this. The start of the season was tough for me. I started improving in October and November. Now, my teammates know me better.”
