Alexis Mac Allister:
Next Year’s Champions League Belongs to Liverpool
Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool’s Argentine star, says he and his team will fight for Champions League glory next season.
According to reports, while today all eyes are on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s farewell to Liverpool, and many fans worry that losing a star like him could prevent the Reds from achieving their goals next season, Alexis Mac Allister insists that Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, is just beginning a brilliant journey and will win the Champions League next season.
Mac Allister pointed out that Liverpool, after years of brilliance under Klopp, unexpectedly won the Premier League with Arne Slot this year. He referred to Liverpool’s painful elimination from the Champions League, stating that the Reds will fight solely for European glory next season and believe in their success.
Mac Allister told ESPN: “If you had asked me at the start of the season, I would have said it was impossible to win the league so comfortably weeks before the end. But we did it dominantly. Why? Because we are just at the start of a brilliant process. This journey has just begun, and Liverpool fans will see great successes ahead for this team.”
The Argentine star added: “Many doubted us, but every day, every day, we proved ourselves and ensured no one could question this team. We got results and believed in the coach. This team is full of top-class players, and there’s no doubt it will succeed.”
Speaking about the Champions League, Mac Allister said: “This year, we were outstanding in the group stage and finished first. We had bad luck in the draw, but everyone saw how great a team we are. We really wanted to go further. It was clear the winner of our match would reach the semifinals. They were better in penalties, but next year we will fight only for the title, and we believe we can win this tournament.”
