With the potential for two more representatives in European finals
America Takes Inter to the Champions League Final!
In the first year of ownership by the American company Oaktree Capital Management, the Italian club Inter Milan reached the UEFA Champions League final.
According to “Varzesh3,” in the first year that the American investment fund Oaktree Capital Management took ownership of Inter Milan, the team defeated Barcelona 4-3 in the second leg (7-6 on aggregate after extra time) to reach the UEFA Champions League final, bringing great joy to the new owners.
This American fund took control of the Italian club on May 22, 2024, after the Chinese management of Inter, led by Steven Zhang, failed to repay a €395 million loan received in 2021 from Oaktree on time.
The American management has continued the path to success; Inter has not only reached the final of Europe’s most prestigious tournament but is also competing for the Serie A title, although they are currently behind Napoli in the standings.
Thus, with the presence of this American fund, the United States has a representative in the Champions League final and is on the verge of participating in two other European tournaments.
Manchester United, despite Jim Ratcliffe owning a majority stake, with shared ownership by the Glazer family, won 3-0 in the first leg in Bilbao and is now looking to secure qualification at Old Trafford.
Additionally, in the Europa Conference League, Chelsea, owned by American investor Todd Boehly, is also on the verge of reaching the final of the competition.
