While Arsenal took the lead in the first half with a goal from Declan Rice, Bournemouth equalized in the 67th minute through Dominic Solanke. Just eight minutes later, Evanilson scored from close range to put Bournemouth ahead.

However, the goal was shrouded in controversy. TV replays showed the ball may have touched the Brazilian striker’s arm before crossing the line. Despite a lengthy VAR review, the referee upheld the decision, sparking outrage among Arsenal supporters.

One fan wrote on social media: “The replay clearly shows the ball hit Evanilson’s elbow, but VAR says: ‘No conclusive evidence, goal stands!'”

Another fan commented: “I must be seeing things because the ball clearly hit Evanilson’s arm. Another ridiculous VAR decision against Arsenal.”

A third user added: “They say there’s no proof the ball touched his hand? The ball hit Evanilson and bounced straight down—that means it definitely hit his elbow.”

Meanwhile, fans also pointed out inconsistencies in VAR decisions. One Arsenal supporter wrote: “The ball touched Havertz’s hand, and there was no evidence, but after the game, the referees’ association disallowed the goal. Now, with clear evidence, Bournemouth’s goal is upheld!”
