Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde Cleared for El Clasico, Boosting Hansi Flick’s Options
Hansi Flick can now include Alejandro Balde in Barcelona’s lineup against Real Madrid.
Barcelona held their final training session ahead of the crucial El Clasico match against Real Madrid on Sunday. The team trained at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper in preparation for the high-stakes encounter.
Alejandro Balde and Marc Casadó participated without issues alongside their teammates. Despite encouragement from teammates, Balde opted not to complete the traditional tunnel return protocol. However, sources indicate the left-back will receive medical clearance in time for the match.
Flick must now decide whether to start Balde or keep him on the bench as a potential second-half substitute. If deemed unfit, Gerard Martin would continue at left-back, though club sources suggest Balde will start.
Flick also called up Iman Cospo, a Swiss U19 central defender, for training. Meanwhile, injured players Pablo Torre, Jules Koundé, and Marc Bernal continue their separate recovery programs.
