Leverkusen’s High Expectations
Bayern Munich’s Big Spending: €150 Million for Florian Wirtz!
Bayern Munich is preparing to pay a hefty sum to Bayer Leverkusen for the acquisition of Florian Wirtz.
According to reports, Wirtz’s outstanding performances for Bayer Leverkusen under Xabi Alonso’s management over the past two seasons have attracted the attention of several top European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Manchester City. Now, the time has come for him to make a big decision.
Many German media outlets have recently claimed that Bayern has reached a final agreement to sign the player and is ready to bring him in during the upcoming summer transfer window. Sport1 now reports that Wirtz’s move to Bayern Munich is beyond doubt, with the only question being when it will happen.
The Bayer Group, the owner of Bayer Leverkusen, has given CEO Fernando Carro the green light to sell this young star in the upcoming summer. Their clear goal is to receive around €150 million for the player.
Bayern Munich is aware of Leverkusen’s demands but is not currently prepared to pay the full €150 million. However, such a payment is not entirely impossible, and they had already prepared themselves for this amount.
The mediating role of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has become key in these negotiations, as the relationship between Max Eberl (Bayern’s sporting director) and Fernando Carro (Leverkusen’s CEO) has reportedly been tense and cold. If this transfer is finalized, it will not only be one of the biggest transfers in Bundesliga history but will also reignite serious discussions about Bayern’s ability to attract players from direct domestic rivals.
