Bayern Munich’s English Star Eric Dier Confirms Departure
Christoph Freund, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, announced that Eric Dier will leave the club at the end of the season.
As Bayern Munich approaches the Bundesliga title in the 2024-25 season, which is likely to be confirmed in their upcoming match against RB Leipzig, Freund revealed the departure of one of Bayern’s key players during a press conference.
Freund stated: “We spoke with Eric about extending his contract. He informed us that he does not intend to renew and will leave the club. Eric is an exceptional person. We had a great time together. He felt comfortable in Munich and at this club. We hope he ends this chapter with his first major trophy with us.”
The 31-year-old English international, with 49 caps and three goals, initially joined Bayern on loan from Tottenham in the second half of the 2023-24 season before making the move permanent last summer. Dier has made 45 appearances for Bayern, scoring two goals. If Bayern secures the title, Dier, like his former and current teammate Harry Kane, will lift his first major career trophy.
