Consequences of Defeat in the Final: Two AC Milan Stars Set to Leave
AC Milan, based on this season’s results and performance, has no intention of retaining Kyle Walker and João Félix.
According to reports, AC Milan lost 1-0 to Bologna in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night. This defeat secured Bologna a spot in the 2025-26 Europa League, while Milan dropped to eighth place in Serie A, risking complete absence from European competitions next season.
Reports on Thursday indicate that this loss also marked the end of Sergio Conceição’s tenure at the club, with expectations that he will leave at the end of the season. Additionally, Gazzetta dello Sport claims that several key players may also depart San Siro alongside him.
The newspaper and other Italian sources report that Milan has decided not to finalize Walker’s permanent transfer, despite a €5 million buyout clause in his loan agreement.
Félix’s situation is similar. Despite a promising start, he has failed to meet expectations at San Siro. His current loan deal lacks a purchase clause, and Milan has no intention of renegotiating with Chelsea to retain him.
Earlier reports in 2025 suggested that Milan might sell Theo Hernández and Fikayo Tomori at the end of the season to raise funds for new signings. Thursday’s report from Gazzetta dello Sport confirms that this decision remains unchanged.
