Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the eldest son of Cristiano Ronaldo, has joined training sessions with Portugal’s U15 national team.
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has been called up for the first time to Portugal’s U15 national team camp and participated in training sessions. The 14-year-old player is currently with his father at Al-Nassr club in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo had previously posted a picture of the national team squad list on social media showing his son’s name, writing: “I’m proud of you.”
Ronaldo Jr. has been called up to represent Portugal in an international tournament taking place from May 13-18 in Croatia. Portugal’s U15 team will face Japan, Greece, and England in this competition. His father, who has won five Ballon d’Or awards, remains a player for the Portuguese national team and holds the record for most international goals in men’s football with 136 goals.
Ronaldo Jr.’s football journey has so far paralleled his father’s professional moves, having trained at the academies of Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and Al-Nassr. Reports indicate he scored 58 goals in one season during his time at Juventus. During Ronaldo’s second stint at Manchester United, his son played alongside Wayne Rooney’s son, Kai, in the youth teams.
Although he’s currently training with Portugal’s U15 team, having been born in the United States and spending significant time in Spain, he could also potentially represent either of those countries.
Images of his training session with Portugal’s U15 team have attracted significant attention on social media, and it appears he’s already under media and football fans’ spotlight, much like his father.
