Crystal Palace’s Strange Training Shutdown Before FA Cup Final
Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace’s manager, claimed that the suspension of his team’s training on Tuesday was entirely logical.
Crystal Palace secured a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the 36th week of the Premier League, boosting the morale of Oliver Glasner’s squad ahead of their FA Cup final clash with Manchester City.
Interestingly, Glasner decided to cancel Tuesday night’s training session, which upset some of the London club’s fans.
The Austrian manager quickly responded, stating in an interview with the club’s official website that the entire team needed rest and that not much could be reviewed in just three days.
Glasner said: “We will be off tomorrow, Tuesday, because the players and coaching staff deserve rest. We have already started preparations and will watch some videos of Manchester City, then begin match preparations on Wednesday. But we can’t do much more. It doesn’t make sense.
This shows what we can do, what kind of team we are, and that we are at our best level. This is how we will approach the final, and then we will see how we perform on the pitch.
It’s football, and anything can happen, but the worst thing we can do is change too much because we can’t teach the players something completely different in four days and perform miracles.”
