Davide to Replace Fabregas at Como
Ancelotti’s Son’s Big Dream: Managing After 12 Years as Assistant
Reports in Italy suggest that after Cesc Fabregas joins Bayer Leverkusen, Davide Ancelotti, son of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti, will take over the helm at Como.
Major managerial changes in European football have already begun. Xabi Alonso’s departure from Leverkusen and his confirmed move to Real Madrid, along with Carlo Ancelotti’s exit from Real to take over the Brazilian national team, has set the stage for a seismic shift among Europe’s top clubs.
The reason is that Alonso’s departure from Leverkusen could have a domino effect on other teams. Reports from Germany and Italy indicate that Cesc Fabregas is the top candidate to replace him at Leverkusen. Consequently, Como, which currently has Fabregas as their manager, will also need a new head coach.
However, Como’s choice for their bench will also impact Real Madrid’s coaching staff. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Como’s primary candidates are two coaches currently under contract with Real.
According to Gazzetta, Como’s first choice is none other than Davide Ancelotti, currently an assistant to his father at Real Madrid. Como wants to give Davide, after 12 years as an assistant, the opportunity to manage a team. Having worked alongside Carlo at Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli, and Everton, Davide could now take charge of a top-tier club like Como in Serie A.
Alvaro Arbeloa has also been mentioned as another candidate to replace Fabregas. Arbeloa currently manages Real Madrid’s youth team.
