Xabi Alonso is a good coach but Real Madrid is different!

Fabio Capello believes Xabi Alonso may face difficulties at Real Madrid.

Xabi Alonso is a good coach but Real Madrid is different!

According to reports, when it comes to Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti, Capello is a credible and authoritative voice. The Italian coach spoke about his compatriot’s departure from Real Madrid in an interview with the program El Partidazo on COPE and simultaneously issued a serious warning to Xabi Alonso.

    – Was his departure unfair?
Capello: I still think so, but I know Real Madrid. At Real, just competing is not enough. You have to be a champion. He won everything, but like everything else in life, you have to accept changes, and he did, just as I did. I also won a title and then was fired.

    – What were the team’s problems?
Capello: In my opinion, with the presence of Mbappé, Vinícius, and Bellingham, they competed with each other physically, technically, and even in positioning on the field, but they didn’t help each other. Mbappé is a great player, he is fantastic, and that is undeniable, but the team needs balance.

    – Is he the best coach in Real’s history?
Capello: The statistics speak for themselves, but people forget this. He had a strong team and won with that strong team. He is smart, knows how to manage the locker room, has charisma… and that is important. Ancelotti has this quality.

    – A warning for Xabi Alonso?
Capello: Xabi Alonso has performed very well, that’s true, but managing Real Madrid is something completely different. A much more difficult and much more important matter.

    What about Lamine Yamal’s brilliance?
Capello: He is a high-quality player with a lot of room for improvement, but I don’t see the genius of a phenomenon in him. Messi or Maradona did things that no one could even imagine. But right now, I can’t compare him to them. It’s not about numbers, it’s about quality and genius. Cristiano Ronaldo is an extraordinary player… and how many goals has he scored? More than anyone, but he is not Messi or Maradona. If there was a vote for the Ballon d’Or, I would vote for Lamine Yamal. My choice in order: Lamine Yamal, Mbappé, and Vinícius.
