Fake Banknotes to Bid Farewell to Ronaldo: ‘Go Home!’ (Photo)
Fans of Real Valladolid protested against the club’s management, owned by Ronaldo Nazário, due to poor performance and relegation to a lower division, staging a demonstration during the match against Barcelona.
According to reports, the José Zorrilla stadium echoed with protests as fans revolted against the club’s disastrous season. Despite a temporary lead against league leaders Barcelona, fans threw counterfeit 500-euro banknotes featuring Ronaldo Nazário’s image with the message: ‘Ronaldo, go home!’
Valladolid took a 1-0 lead with Iván Sánchez’s goal, but this did not stop the shower of fake banknotes. The protest demanded the club’s sale and pressured Ronaldo to relinquish ownership after relegation. Fans criticized Ronaldo for not attending a single home game all season.
