In a match from the 31st round of the Saudi Pro League, Al-Nassr delivered a stunning and bizarre 9-0 victory, one of the most decisive results of the season, crushing Al-Khaleej.

Ricardo Sá Pinto, the coach of Al-Khaleej, who previously managed Sanat Naft Abadan for one season, took full responsibility for the heavy defeat against Al-Nassr, stating he had little to say.

He said in the post-match press conference: “When you suffer such a heavy defeat, there isn’t much left to say.”

With this 9-0 loss to Al-Nassr, Al-Khaleej remains in 17th place with 28 points, on the verge of relegation to the First Division, with only three weeks left in the season.

Sá Pinto continued: “I fully accept this heavy defeat, but I am confident the players will respond well in the next match.”

He added: “This result is very shameful, and I apologize to our fans. I promise we will present a different image of our team in the next game.”

He admitted the defeat against Al-Nassr was unexpected but said: “We knew defeating Al-Nassr would be very difficult, but we did not expect to lose by this margin.”

When asked about tactical changes and their impact on the defeat, Sá Pinto replied: “I take full responsibility for this loss. Part of this result was due to our tactical plan not being good enough, and mistakes were made that led to this heavy defeat.”

He concluded: “We still have 9 more points to fight for, and we will battle to stay in the league.”
