Inter Miami Suffers Heavy Defeat Despite Messi’s Goal!
Inter Miami lost 4-1 to Minnesota United in Week 11 of the MLS season, despite Lionel Messi scoring his sixth goal of the campaign.
In a thrilling MLS group-stage match, Minnesota United faced Inter Miami, resulting in a heavy 4-1 defeat for Lionel Messi’s team.
Minnesota dominated the first half, scoring twice through Hlongwane and Markanich. In the second half, former Barcelona stars Jordi Alba and Lionel Messi combined, with Messi converting Alba’s low cross with his left foot to pull one back.
Despite Inter Miami controlling possession after Messi’s goal, an unfortunate own goal by Weigandt in the 68th minute and Robin Lod’s strike in the 70th sealed the 4-1 victory for Minnesota.
With this loss, Inter Miami remains in fourth place with 21 points, while Minnesota climbs to second with 22 points.
Messi scored his sixth goal in his eighth MLS appearance this season. Inter Miami will face San Jose next week.
