Jens Lehmann’s Wife Divorces Him After Chainsaw Scandal!
Former Arsenal and Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has divorced his wife following a series of scandals in recent months.
According to reports, Connie Lehmann confirmed in an interview with German newspaper Bild that her 25-year marriage to the former Arsenal goalkeeper has ended. Connie, now 52, told Bild: “I am single. A happy single.”
She declined to comment further on her relationship with Lehmann, her now ex-husband. The two had been living separately for some time. Connie had moved out of their luxurious villa in Starnberg (near Munich) even before their divorce was finalized. The property was listed for sale in January for €12.9 million.
The divorce announcement comes after the 55-year-old Lehmann was embroiled in several legal controversies last year. Among them was the infamous incident in the summer of 2022, where he was accused of cutting down the roof beams of his neighbor’s newly built garage with a chainsaw.
This incident led to a German court initially sentencing him to a hefty fine and a suspended prison term, which was later reduced to a fine of around €120,000 after an appeal. Reports also indicated that he settled the case out of court by paying his neighbor over €60,000. He was also pursued for unpaid parking fines, which were eventually paid.
Connie and Jens first met in 1995 and married in 1999. They have two children: Mats (24) and Lieselotta (18). Lehmann had also adopted Connie’s child from her previous marriage to Knut Reinhardt, a former Borussia Dortmund player.
Despite the separation, they went on a family vacation together last summer. However, according to German media reports, the trip was primarily for the children’s sake and did not indicate any reconciliation between the parents.
