Joachim Löw, former head coach of the German national team, still has full faith in Thomas Müller’s future in German football. The 65-year-old former Mannschaft coach claimed in his latest interview that his former protégé still has the ability to play at the top level of European football.

Löw told Süddeutsche Zeitung: “Not only as an excellent player, but Müller was and is an extraordinary person. We always had a very good and close relationship. We had a lot of fun together. We are still in regular contact.”

Löw also claimed that Müller, in addition to his sporting qualities, played a special role in Germany as a leadership personality. He said: “When Thomas was in the dressing room, the atmosphere changed. He could excite other players before the game and during halftime, and he was really skilled at it.

Müller constantly stirred things up, excited his teammates, and even invited them to calm down. Thomas was one of those irreplaceable players who are very important for a dressing room.

Therefore, strong communication was one of Müller’s greatest strengths. Of course, sometimes this was too noticeable. Because situations arose where during training I would say, ‘Thomas! Now be quiet! You don’t have to comment on everything.'”
