After Xabi Alonso, Jonathan Tah Also Leaves Leverkusen
Emotional Farewell for the Defender Wanted by Real Madrid and Barcelona
Jonathan Tah, the defender sought by Barcelona and Real Madrid, bid an emotional farewell to Bayer Leverkusen with tears in his eyes.
Jonathan Tah, the 29-year-old center-back of Bayer Leverkusen, after months of speculation about his future, sat in front of the cameras at the club today and tearfully said goodbye to the team.
Tah has been on the radar of Barcelona and Real Madrid for some time. While media close to Barça claim he is closer to joining Hansi Flick’s team, the likelihood of Xabi Alonso taking over Real Madrid next season has increased the possibility of Tah reuniting with his former coach at Leverkusen.
Undoubtedly, Tah will be one of the biggest transfer bombs of this summer. He has worn the Leverkusen jersey for 10 years and captained the team.
When Tah sat in front of Leverkusen’s cameras today, the club played a video of his highlights, which moved Jonathan to tears.
Jonathan Tah will officially bid farewell to the fans tomorrow in Leverkusen’s match against Borussia Dortmund. Xabi Alonso will also play his last home game tomorrow and say goodbye to the fans. They will leave Bayer Leverkusen a week later after the final match of the season against Mainz.
