Kylian Mbappe’s Unlucky Hat-Tricks: Brilliance in Vain
Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid’s star forward, scored a hat-trick against Barcelona but still suffered a 4-3 defeat.
According to reports, Kylian Mbappe showcased his exceptional talent in the El Clasico at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic, but ultimately endured a bitter night as Real Madrid lost 4-3 to Barcelona.
Mbappe scored three goals in this crucial La Liga match, marking his second hat-trick against Barcelona and surpassing Ivan Zamorano’s record with 39 goals this season. However, his individual brilliance couldn’t prevent the visitors’ victory, as Real Madrid succumbed in a thrilling contest.
With this result, the French star became the first player to score a hat-trick in El Clasico and still end up on the losing side.
This isn’t the first time Mbappe has tasted defeat despite a hat-trick in a major match. In the 2022 World Cup final, his three stunning goals against Argentina saved France from certain defeat and forced penalties, but Argentina, led by Lionel Messi and Emiliano Martinez, snatched the trophy, leaving Mbappe with only the Golden Boot.
Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, has proven he remains one of the world’s best forwards. He previously scored a hat-trick against Barcelona in the 2021 Champions League, leading Paris Saint-Germain to a 4-1 victory. However, this time, Barcelona capitalized on Real Madrid’s defensive mistakes to secure the win.
