Liverpool has begun negotiations to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

    Liverpool Finds Replacement for Alexander-Arnold

Since Alexander-Arnold officially announced his departure from Anfield at the end of the 2024-25 season, Liverpool has been searching for a high-quality right-back to replace him. The newspaper L’Équipe previously reported that Liverpool’s management had considered Vanderson from AS Monaco.

Now, Fabrizio Romano claims that Liverpool is in preliminary talks with Bayer Leverkusen to sign their standout full-back, Frimpong, in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Reds are currently examining the €35 million release clause in the player’s contract with last season’s Bundesliga champions and have also initiated discussions with the player’s representatives. It is said that Frimpong is interested in joining Liverpool and competing in the English Premier League.

    Alexander-Arnold

Alexander-Arnold was not in Arne Slot’s starting lineup for this week’s match against Arsenal, and the Dutch coach opted to field Conor Bradley at right-back. Slot even compared Bradley to one of the best right-backs in the world, Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain.

This shows that Liverpool’s manager has great confidence in Bradley, but the club’s management prefers to secure a reliable and outstanding replacement for Arnold as well.
