According to reports, Liverpool aims to avoid a situation similar to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contract uncertainty. Alexander-Arnold’s deal expires in June, and he must make a final decision. Meanwhile, negotiations for an extension with Luis Diaz, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2027, have reportedly begun.

Sky Sports reports that the Colombian star will begin contract extension talks with Liverpool at the end of the season. Diaz recently celebrated his 100th Premier League appearance and scored a goal against Tottenham that temporarily leveled the match. Liverpool ultimately won 5-1, securing their 20th league title.

Diaz still has two years left on his contract, and his representatives are ready to negotiate new terms with Liverpool this summer. Meanwhile, Barcelona has long shown strong interest in the 28-year-old, and rumors have circulated about a potential big-money move to the Saudi Pro League.
Diaz has scored 14 goals this season, playing a crucial role in Liverpool’s return to title contention after the 2019/20 season. He joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37 million. During his four seasons at Anfield, he has won the Premier League, the FA Cup, and two League Cups.
