Manchester City’s official social media pages recently revealed images of the team’s new home kit for the upcoming Premier League season, which has been well-received by fans.

For the first time in City’s history, the home kit features the famous “diagonal stripe” design, a pattern previously used in many away matches and now a historic symbol for the club.

The new 2025-26 home kit combines the club’s classic sky blue with a white diagonal stripe, a modern reinterpretation of a design that has been revived for a new generation of fans.

This design first appeared on City kits in the 1970s, worn by legends like Mike Summerbee, Colin Bell, Francis Lee, and Tony Book. While the diagonal stripe was primarily used on away kits, it now appears on the home kit for the first time, creating a bridge between past and future and connecting generations of Manchester City supporters.

Marco Mueller, Head of Teamwear at Puma, said: “We are thrilled to introduce the iconic diagonal stripe, previously famous in away matches, for the first time on the home kit. In this kit and others this season, fans worldwide will once again see that our partnership goes beyond conventional design rules, pushing creativity, innovation, and design boundaries to deliver something special.”

This kit is made using at least 95% recycled materials from textile waste and recycled polyester, marking a significant step toward a more sustainable and circular production process for sportswear.

Manchester City’s men’s first team will debut this new home kit at the Club World Cup hosted in the U.S. this summer.
