Wagner Ribeiro:
Messi, Suarez, and Pique Prevented Neymar’s Move to Real Madrid!
Wagner Ribeiro, Neymar’s former agent, claimed that despite Real Madrid offering a better deal in 2014, three Barcelona stars convinced Neymar to stay.
Wagner Ribeiro, one of the most well-known agents for Brazilian players, who has worked with Kaka, Robinho, and Neymar, stated in a recent interview that he did everything to facilitate Neymar’s move to Real Madrid, but it ultimately did not happen.
Ribeiro told Toto Sport: “I always loved football. In 1997, my stepbrother invited me to enter politics because he wanted to become mayor. At that time, Franca came, and I helped transfer him from Sao Paulo to Bayer Leverkusen. Later, others followed, like Kaka, and I represented fourteen players from Sao Paulo.”
About Real Madrid
Anyone who joins Real Madrid and then leaves carries the weight of wearing that shirt. No one leaves depressed or poor. The problem is the immediate pressure for results. Robinho didn’t perform well at Real, and Kaka faced tough competition when he returned to Milan.
He was a substitute but gradually found his place. He should have gone to Real Madrid before Milan, but they wanted to loan him. With consistency at Milan, he became the best player in the world.”
About Robinho
I loved him and his family very much, but I have doubts. I have spoken to his son Junior and his wife. I don’t believe what is said about him, even if he has been convicted at any stage of the trial, and I hope he is acquitted soon.”
Efforts to Transfer Neymar to Real Madrid
To be honest, before Neymar went to Barcelona, I had a conflict with him because I hoped he would join Real Madrid, as they were offering more money.
But some players like Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, and Luis Suarez convinced him to join Barcelona. I had a good relationship with Florentino Perez. When he moved to Barcelona, the deal was facilitated by my introduction to Neymar’s father by Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
