Exciting Transfer Race
Napoli Begins Negotiations with Highly Sought-After European Striker
Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s sporting director, has initiated talks with Jonathan David’s agent to sign the player.
According to reports, David, whose name has been linked with clubs like Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, and other top European teams throughout the 2024-25 season, will leave Lille when his contract expires on June 30.
Meanwhile, Napoli is planning an expensive summer with significant investments to prepare the team for a return to the UEFA Champions League in the 2025-26 season. With the potential departure of Victor Osimhen, the attack is one area receiving special attention.
While Napoli has also held talks with players like Rasmus Højlund (Manchester United), Lorenzo Lucca (Udinese), and Ange-Yoan Bonny (Parma) in recent weeks, Jonathan David appears to be the club’s current preferred option, with Antonio Conte also showing strong interest in him.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reported today that negotiations for David’s signing have already begun, and it is said that the player’s agent is in Naples to discuss a potential transfer and will hold meetings with Napoli’s management.
Although David will be available as a free agent, the total cost of signing him—including signing bonuses, first-year wages, and agent fees—is estimated to be around €34 million.
