According to reports, the English star will leave the German champions at the end of his contract. After Monaco secured their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League with a win over Lyon last weekend, they have now shifted their focus to strengthening their squad by adding an experienced player like Dier to their young team.

Monaco had been looking to sign an experienced player throughout the season and were even in talks with Jordan Henderson, Dier’s England teammate and Ajax player, during the January transfer window.

Dier, who can play in both midfield and defense, played a key role in Bayern Munich’s return to the top of the Bundesliga this season. He made 20 appearances in the league, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Ten years after joining Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon, Dier moved to Bayern Munich on a six-month loan in January 2024. After meeting the required number of appearances, a clause in his contract was activated, and he signed a permanent one-year deal with Bayern in the summer. Now, with his contract expiring, he leaves Bayern to begin a new challenge in Ligue 1 with Monaco.
