Lahm: Kvaratskhelia is Truly Amazing
In the Spirit of Kvaradona, Ribéry Returns to Football
Philipp Lahm, Bayern Munich legend, praised Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, comparing him to his former teammate Frank Ribéry.
Bayern Munich’s former captain praised Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Paris Saint-Germain’s new star, comparing him to a legend like Frank Ribéry.
Kvaratskhelia, who moved from Napoli to Paris for €70 million just a few months ago, quickly secured his place in PSG’s starting lineup, especially in the UEFA Champions League. He has contributed to four goals in the knockout stages and five in Ligue 1. In the first leg against Arsenal, he assisted Ousmane Dembélé.
Lahm wrote in a note for Atlético: “His effort and hard work remind me of Frank Ribéry. I can imagine his teammates enjoy playing alongside him because they always feel his presence, no matter what happens on the field.”
Lahm added about PSG’s new star: “The distance Kvaratskhelia covers with the ball is truly astonishing, and even more impressive is that he remains dangerous after those runs. He always adds something to his team. He is Georgia’s national team star but runs and defends the most. Whether in attack or defense, he is a warrior—it’s in his nature.”
Kvaratskhelia is now one of PSG’s main hopes to reach the UEFA Champions League final. The Parisian team will host Arsenal at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, May 7, in the second leg of the semifinals, aiming to secure their 1-0 first-leg advantage.
