Pisa, led by Filippo Inzaghi, celebrated their promotion to Serie A next to the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Pisa, which played its matches in Serie B this season just 400 meters from the famous Leaning Tower, did not forget the landmark after securing promotion to Serie A after 34 years.
The tower, photographed by famous photographers worldwide, today witnessed a large flag hanging from it: the flag of Pisa Football Club. After 34 years of effort and setbacks to return to Italy’s top flight, this year, under the leadership of Filippo Inzaghi, luck smiled on Pisa, and they succeeded in returning to the top league.
The Inzaghi brothers will face each other in the same league for the first time next season. Simone Inzaghi, as Inter Milan’s coach—a team that will undoubtedly be a title contender next season and may enter the new season as defending champions and possibly Champions League winners—will face his brother Filippo. The clashes between Pippo and Simone Inzaghi next season will be one of the new attractions of Serie A.
Today’s Pisa celebration took place in Piazza del Duomo, next to the famous Leaning Tower. The club’s management knew this ceremony would attract global attention due to the tower’s worldwide fame. Next season, Pisa’s matches near this tower will undoubtedly draw many viewers to watch Filippo Inzaghi’s team on TV.
