A Tradition That Didn’t Break
Real Madrid Chooses to Torment Its Fans!
There is no way this Real Madrid, with its abundance of stars, can experience a calm afternoon or evening. It seems they have chosen suffering.
According to reports, after the match against Celta, Real Madrid has now gone 16 consecutive games either winning by a narrow margin, drawing, or losing. Since February 23 (a 2-0 win against Girona), they have been unable to finish their matches without anxiety, highlighting the fragile state of Carlo Ancelotti’s team. Of course, the wave of injuries that has devastated their main defensive line hasn’t helped.
However, when in the 47th minute, Kylian Mbappe showed that no player is as decisive as him in open spaces and scored the third goal, it seemed the game was completely over.
The second half appeared to be a mere formality, but that was a mistake. This team, with its lack of focus and seriousness, can even revive the dead.
The attacking players, who usually put in minimal effort with the implicit approval of their coach, practically disappeared when faced with a comfortable lead. Celta, however, was energetic. Iago Aspas, in 20 minutes against Real Madrid’s lethargic midfield, which gave him time to think with the ball, delivered a brilliant performance, feeding his teammates with dangerous passes to narrow the gap and once again bring Bernabeu to the brink of a nervous breakdown.
Ultimately, everything ended in yet another nerve-wracking moment. Now, Real Madrid will face Barcelona in El Clasico at Montjuic next Sunday in a La Liga clash that could prepare them better than a pressured Barcelona. Much of this hope is owed to Arda Guler, who was once again Real Madrid’s best player, and his partnership with Mbappe could bring glorious days for the team. Watching Guler score, assist, lead the game, and bring calm inevitably raises the question: Why hasn’t Ancelotti trusted him more, especially when Rodrygo, with his performances this season, hasn’t deserved a fixed spot?
