The Supreme Court of the Canary Islands issued a brief statement yesterday afternoon, announcing that the judge had decided to prosecute four suspects in a case involving the distribution of explicit videos of two young women, one of whom was a minor.

After the match, which ended in a dramatic victory for Real Madrid in the final minutes, Asencio posted on social media to thank the fans and divert attention from non-sporting controversies. He wrote: “Today was the time to focus on the field, to help the team and prove worthy of this club’s logo. Thank you to those who stood by us and still believe in us.”

The Supreme Court’s statement has paved the way for prosecutors and private plaintiffs to submit their evidence and formally request a trial. The accused individuals, in addition to Raúl Asencio, include Andrés García, Fran Ruiz, and Juan Rodríguez, who are no longer part of Real Madrid.

The court’s ruling has not been made public due to the involvement of personal information related to a minor. It is currently unclear what specific charges each of the four individuals will face, but the alleged crimes in this case include: unauthorized disclosure of secrets and violation of privacy (Article 197.1 of the Penal Code), distribution of videos to third parties without the victims’ knowledge or consent (Article 197.3), exploitation of minors for sexual purposes and possession of related images (Article 189, Sections 1 and 5 of the Penal Code).
