Real Madrid's treatment of Raúl was the height of injustice

The departure of Carlo Ancelotti and the arrival of Xabi Alonso, which has yet to be officially confirmed, has raised questions about potential transfers and the tactical system favored by the Basque coach. However, Vicente del Bosque, speaking on Cadena SER, discussed another candidate for the Real Madrid bench: Raúl González.

Del Bosque avoided direct comments about Raúl, saying: “I don’t want to upset anyone, but it can be said that a great injustice is evident here.”

However, he praised Xabi Alonso, adding: “For us, he was a key player. He always thought about the team and has transferred this quality as a coach.”

Del Bosque continued: “He was one of those I most expected to become a coach. Xabi gained his experience at Real Sociedad B and then achieved great success with Bayer Leverkusen.”

It is worth noting that despite several years with Real Madrid Castilla, Raúl has never had the chance to manage the first team and was not even considered as an interim coach for the Club World Cup. The club intended to place Santiago Solari on the bench, but in the end, Xabi agreed to start his journey from these competitions.
