According to reports, after months of speculation and multiple discussions about leaving, Salah finally renewed his contract and will continue his journey with Liverpool. He was recently named the Premier League Player of the Season. The Egyptian star played a crucial role in the Reds’ success.

Salah considers himself a legend: “I’m sure I’m a Liverpool legend! (laughs) Jokes aside, I’m in good form, I train, prepare, and play. When I go home, my focus is entirely on my family. So I don’t have much time to think about it. But if you ask me, yes, I know I’m a legend. This season, despite all the doubts about my contract extension, the fans saw that I gave everything, without holding back or calculating. Here, perhaps more than anywhere else, that’s what’s most respected.”

Salah spoke about his doubts regarding his contract extension with Liverpool: “It seems this uncertainty ultimately worked in my favor (laughs), because I had the best statistical season of my career (49 games, 33 goals, and 23 assists in all competitions with Liverpool). The possibility that this might be my last season here motivated me to make the most of it and give everything to win the trophy I promised myself. I had the mindset that if the club didn’t want to renew my contract, it was fine—we’d finish things in the best possible way and leave through the front door with pride.”

Was there really a chance of leaving? The Egyptian star revealed: “Yes, it was a very real possibility. In fact, it was a bit strange. We were having an incredible season, and negotiations were ongoing, which weren’t easy. But in the end, everything worked out. We became champions, and I stayed for two more seasons.”
