After Nighttime Attack on Training Camp
Sevilla Players Too Scared to Go Home After Fan Violence!
Sevilla players spent the night at the club’s training facility following violent attacks by fans.
According to reports, Sevilla’s first team was forced to spend Saturday night at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios training center after facing violent attacks from a group of fans.
The incident occurred after Sevilla’s 3-2 loss to Celta Vigo, who played with 10 men. Sevilla FC issued a statement strongly condemning the organized destruction at their training facility and announced they would pursue legal action.
Images circulating on social media show a large group of fans gathered outside the training center, creating a tense atmosphere with chants and pyrotechnics. Another video shows fans vandalizing the entrance gate. As a result, Sevilla players and staff returning from Vigo had to remain inside the facility overnight for their safety.
Sevilla stated in their announcement that they would legally pursue the public identification of those involved and the release of private data on social media, which constitutes criminal offenses.
The club emphasized it would make every effort to identify and punish those responsible for the attacks and destruction, adding: “The club will assist in identifying those involved in these actions, and if they are Sevilla supporters, decisive measures will be taken.”
This defeat leaves Sevilla in 16th place in La Liga, six points above the relegation zone, with only three matches remaining in the season.
Sevilla, Europa League champions in 2020 and 2023, acknowledged the team’s poor performance this season and accepted fan protests but stressed: “Under no circumstances will protests involving violence, threats, or destruction be tolerated.”
The team, winless in their last eight matches, will face Las Palmas in a crucial relegation battle on Tuesday, followed by a home game against Real Madrid, before ending the season with a trip to Villarreal.
