Shooting and Attempt on Former Al-Nassr Goalkeeper’s Life!
Former Al-Nassr goalkeeper was targeted in a robbery and shooting incident.
According to reports, Flamengo players were targeted in a robbery attempt early Thursday morning after returning from Argentina and landing in Rio de Janeiro. The club confirmed that the car carrying the team’s goalkeeper, Agustín Rossi, former Al-Nassr shot-stopper, was hit by four bullets, but fortunately, no one was injured.
Based on the club’s official statement, Flamengo players arrived in the city around 5:30 AM after returning from a Copa Libertadores match in Argentina. Shortly after arrival, several players’ cars were targeted in a robbery attempt on Linha Amarela highway near Bonsucesso in northern Rio.
Flamengo released a statement saying:
“The car carrying the team’s goalkeeper, Agustín Rossi, was hit by four bullets. Despite the severity of the incident, the robbery attempt was unsuccessful, and none of the players or passengers were injured.”
The club’s press office also confirmed that all players involved in the incident are now safe at their homes.
Agustín Rossi, who briefly played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, said in a personal statement: “I have fallen victim to the lack of public security in Rio de Janeiro and thank the fans for their supportive messages.”
According to the criminal police, two private cars were stolen on Linha Amarela highway on Thursday morning. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities reviewing surveillance footage and taking other measures to identify the perpetrators.
