UEFA Ignores Requests from Manchester United and Tottenham!
UEFA will not consider requests to change the venue for the Europa League final.
According to reports, UEFA has made its final decision regarding the venue for the Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham.
Both Premier League teams secured their place in the final after strong performances in the second leg, despite their struggles domestically.
It has been announced that the match will take place at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao, which has a maximum capacity of 53,289. Given that both clubs would likely want more fans to attend, requests were made to change the venue.
However, changing the stadium is not possible, as it was selected as the host venue in 2021, and the match will proceed as scheduled in Bilbao. Requests from both clubs to relocate the match were made, but UEFA has no plans to review them.
English teams have previously faced each other in European finals without the venue being changed. For example, Manchester City vs. Chelsea in 2021 and Liverpool vs. Tottenham in 2019.
Overall, in the past 15 years, seven European finals have been contested between teams from the same league, none of which were relocated.
