The match had high stakes, determining the season’s champion. Ultimately, Al-Kuwait defeated Al-Arabi 2-1, securing their fourth consecutive Kuwait League title—their 20th in history.
Before the match, Al-Kuwait led Al-Arabi by two points. A win would have crowned Al-Arabi champions, but Al-Kuwait secured the title with a five-point lead.
Kamel Al-Asoud scored first for Al-Arabi in the 7th minute, raising their hopes. However, Mohammed Daham and Mohammed Marhoon scored two quick goals for Al-Kuwait in the 64th and 67th minutes, crushing Al-Arabi’s dreams.
The tension heightened when Ali Aziz, an Al-Arabi player, was sent off in the 48th minute. After the final whistle, chaos erupted on the field.
The brawl was sparked by Mohammed Daham of Al-Kuwait and Hamza Khaba of Al-Arabi. After exchanging words, they began fighting like boxers, and soon all players joined in.
The brawl lasted over 10 minutes. Police eventually intervened, but not before a player used a corner flag as a weapon. Fans also stormed the pitch, prolonging the chaos until authorities restored order.
