Abdulrazak Hamdallah greeted with bottle throwing
Angry Al-Ahli fans threw water bottles at the Moroccan striker during the match.
According to reports, Abdulrazak Hamdallah, the Moroccan striker of Al-Shabab, paid a heavy price for scoring against Al-Ahli Jeddah. The match, which took place on Sunday evening as part of the 31st round of the Saudi Professional League, witnessed both brilliance and controversy from the prominent player.
Hamdallah scored two beautiful goals in the 33rd and 66th minutes, bringing his tally to 21 goals and placing him second in the league’s top scorers list, just two goals behind Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr, who leads with 23 goals.
In the 75th minute of the match, tensions escalated between players from both teams, leading to a physical altercation between Hamdallah and Franck Kessié, the Ivorian midfielder of Al-Ahli. Players from both teams tried to separate the two, while whistles of protest were heard from both sides of the stadium.
The referee initially showed yellow cards to both players, but this decision further provoked Hamdallah. He attacked Kessié again, resulting in a second yellow card and his expulsion from the game.
Upon leaving the field, Hamdallah made provocative gestures towards the Al-Ahli fans, triggering a harsh reaction from them, who greeted him with protest whistles and bottle throwing.
