Response to Allegations: Bayern Does Not Collude

According to reports, when Bayern Munich players flew directly to Ibiza after their match against Gladbach to celebrate their confirmed championship, the move sparked controversy in Germany as the season had not yet concluded.

The reason is that Bayern must face Hoffenheim at home in the final matchday. Heidenheim currently sits in 16th place and must win to avoid relegation via a playoff. However, if Bayern Munich defeats Hoffenheim by a large margin and Heidenheim wins their match, Hoffenheim could be forced into the relegation playoff.

Relegation for Bochum and Holstein Kiel is already confirmed, but Heidenheim hopes to escape the playoff and send Hoffenheim into it. If Bayern Munich deliberately defeats Hoffenheim, Heidenheim’s last hopes of avoiding the playoff will vanish.

The president of Heidenheim dismissed claims that they were upset about Bayern’s celebrations in Ibiza, stating: “First, we must win our own match against Werder Bremen to have any chance of avoiding relegation. I am confident that Bayern Munich will enter the match determined to win as always, and I do not believe they will take it easy against Hoffenheim. Beyond sportsmanship, Bayern has the opportunity to break their own Bundesliga goal-scoring record. In 1972, they reached 101 goals. Personally, I don’t think Bayern would want to do any favors for another team. I urge fans to focus on their own team and avoid discussing Bayern’s trip to Ibiza.”
