Kylian’s Big Leap with a Hat-Trick
Golden Boot: Real Madrid Rallies for Mbappe
With less than three weeks left in the 2024/25 season, the race for the European Golden Boot is getting more exciting every day.
According to reports, Mohamed Salah lost his top spot two weeks ago. The Egyptian striker has now been overtaken by Victor Gyokeres, who leads with 38 goals in the Portuguese league despite its lower coefficient (1.5) compared to Europe’s top leagues.
Kylian Mbappe, with his hat-trick in El Clasico (though ultimately fruitless), is now close to the top two. He is just three points behind the leader with three games remaining, which could propel him to the Golden Boot. In these three matches, all of Real Madrid will be pushing for Kylian to win the award.
Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane are further behind, while Matteo Retegui, playing with Atalanta tonight, could re-enter the race. Below is the ranking of top players with coefficients above 1:
Victor Gyokeres (Sporting) (Coefficient 1.5): 57 points
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool): 56 points
Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid): 54 points
Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona): 50 points
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich): 50 points
Matteo Retegui (Atalanta): 48 points
Alexander Isak (Newcastle): 46 points
