“I’m So Proud of You”
Cristiano Ronaldo Celebrates Son’s First Portugal U15 Match
Cristiano Ronaldo, Al-Nassr forward, expressed his joy on social media after his son made his debut for Portugal’s U15 national team.
Junior Ronaldo, heir to the football legend, has now taken his talents to the international stage. Previously, the eldest son of the Al-Nassr star played for youth teams of clubs where his father was contracted. Now, he represents Portugal’s youth setup and has been training with the squad for several days.
He made his debut for the U15 team in the international Vlatko Marković Tournament held from May 13-18 in Croatia. Portugal played their first match against Japan on Tuesday, followed by fixtures against Greece and England.
In this debut match, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. played his first minutes wearing his country’s colors. His grandmother, Dolores Aveiro, was present in the stands, having accompanied him to Croatia after spending time with him in previous days.
Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t attend due to his commitments with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, but that didn’t stop him from sending heartfelt words of encouragement via social media.
The former Real Madrid star wrote on his official Instagram account (650M followers): “My son, congratulations on your first match for Portugal. I’m so proud of you!”
